The Golfer's Footprint® Story...
The idea for The Golfer’s Footprint®(GFi) Swing Trainer originated while I was trying to show my four-year-old son how to swing a golf club. He was having trouble seeing what I was describing as the club path. This was affecting his ability to repeat his swing with consistency. Frustrated, the last thing that he wanted was for me to tell him what he was doing wrong.
Attempting to simplify things, I drew an arrow and a target circle on a piece of cardboard so he could see the correct club path and point of impact. He immediately understood, and began repeating this club path with each swing. All he needed was a clear vision of what to do. That night, I designed the first Golfer’s Footprint on my computer. I printed it out, taped it together, and took it to the driving range with my son.
As I watched him hitting off the cardboard, I noticed three things happening. First, he could easily visualize the correct and incorrect club paths. Second, he was able to repeat the swing over and over. Third, he received self-generated feedback from watching his club follow the arrow and impact inside the target circle. This was a lot better than Dad trying to tell him what he was doing. After trying it myself, I realized that I had designed a training aid that could help golfers of all ages.
The Golfer’s Footprint® provides the key ingredients of visualization, repetition, and feedback in a single product. By using the Golfer's Footprint, your golf swing becomes easier to repeat correctly and consistently. Like footprints in the sand, each print is a replication of the one before. Over and over again, the same footprint; hence, the name, The Golfer’s Footprint®.
